Standard Training Options

High Voltage Safety Training for Mobility Applications

We offer three levels of training, each building on the last.

Level 1
0.5 Days

Recommended for all personnel likely to enter an area containing a high-voltage system, including non-technical staff. Prerequisite for Level 2. Goal: awareness of HV hazards and protection of employees.

  • Introduction to mobility high voltage systems

  • Determination of acceptable Level 1 work

  • Protective measures in vehicles & mobility HV systems
  • Definition of intrinsically safe system
  • Identifying HV hazards

Level 2
2 Days

Required for any employee working in the immediate area around, or directly on, a HV system. Prerequisite for Level 3. Goal: the knowledge to make safe decisions and work on a de-energized HV system.

  • Survey of key systems & components of mobility HV electric systems
  • Switching electrical currents electromagnetically
  • Storing electrical energy
  • Vehicle integration topics
  • Implications of laws and regulations
  • Hazard classification & types of electrical hazards
  • De-energization of a HV system
  • EV hazards & mitigation strategies
  • EV safety practices & responding to HV accidents

Level 3
0.5 Days

Required for any employee working on an energized HV system. Live-work instruction and a practical examination of safe-working practices in a HV live-work scenario.

  • Review of safe working strategies and methods from Level 2
  • Practical exam: successfully perform a common operation on a live system, evaluated by the instructor
  • Operation may be prepared by our team or specified by the client for added relevance
